* Anulom Vilom or Alternate Nostril Breathing – As the name suggests it involves breathing alternatively through each nostril deeply into your lungs and not your stomach. You breathe in through your left nostril while you cover your right nostril with the thumb of your right hand. Then cover your left nostril with the middle and ring fingers and breathe out through your right nostril. Breathe in through your right nostril, cover it with your thumb and then breathe out through your left nostril. Repeat this for 5 to 10 minutes. This is beneficial for improving the functions of your brain and also keeping it healthy.

* Kapalbhati or the Breath of Fire – Kapal translates to the skull and bhati means shine, thus Kapalbhati is an exercise that gives a shine to your face and is considered extremely beneficial for the brain and neurological system. It concentrates more on breathing out forcefully then breathing in. You empty your lungs completely every time you breathe out and your stomach muscles contract when you do this. This is to be done for around 5 to 10 minutes and is beneficial for improving concentration, treating obesity, constipation, acidity, gastric problems, snoring, asthma, diabetes, etc.

* Bahya Pranayama or Retaining the Air Outside the Body - It involves staying without breathing for a few moments.

* Udgeeth or the Chanting of Om – You breathe in deeply and then chant Om for as long as you can in the same breath. This is to be done for 10 to 15 minutes. It is considered excellent for improving concentration and boosting your memory.
